About

Kimberly Dawson, M.S.

I started the “Kimberly Fitness” blog back in 2006 (originally called “The Wellness Workout”).  After working in the health and fitness industry for 5 years or so, I became frustrated with the lack of reliable, scientific advice being given to the public.  I wanted to create a site that could help people live a better, healthier lifestyle based on practical knowledge and research-based information.

I spent nearly 13 years of my life working as a health professional, acting as a business owner, fitness trainer, nutritionist, group exercise instructor, consultant, speaker, teacher, and adjunct professor. In 2009, I was awarded “Featured Fitness Professional” by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, one of the leading certifying organizations for fitness instructors.  I have been a featured blogger for Livestrong, Good Housekeeping, Mint Finance, and Dole Nutrition, among other companies.

Early in 2014,  I made the decision to leave the fitness industry and embark on a new career.  However, I remain passionate about the benefits of living a healthy, holistic lifestyle, and will continue to educate, promote, and inspire through my writing.
