Tip for the Holidays #3

If you find you are surrounded by chocolates this time of year, and can smell that sweet smell from 5 stores away in the mall, here is a suggestion;  buy one bar of really good chocolate and bring it home. Do not eat it, yet.  Take the bar and "shave" it.  Put the shavings in a plastic, sealable bag.  Put the bag in the refridgerator to keep it fresh, longer (ideally hidden away in a drawer).  You can use it to sprinkle on desserts such as the following:

Chocolate Sprinkled Berries

1-2 Tbsp chocolate shavings
Berries of choice (strawberries, raspberries), sliced, cleaned and stems removed
Homemade whipped cream (see below)

Place sliced, chilled berries in bowl.  Place a dollop or two of homemade whipped cream on top.  Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.  Enjoy!

To make homemade whipped cream is VERY EASY and much healthier for you than cool whip.  Place whipping cream in a bowl and whip until the cream gets stiff and peaks form.  It’s that simple!
